Happy Thanksgiving!
With the holiday season upon us, I’d like to personally thank you for helping St Joseph’s
Helpers to have such an impact on the clients we served this year. It’s customary in this
season to take a moment and reflect on all the blessings we have received this past year.
As we look forward to celebrating Thanksgiving, we all realize there are neighbors, whose
weeks ahead will not be filled with joy. For whatever reason, in whatever circumstance, we
know that people in need can be helped if we choose to do so. As the Talmud asks of us:
“If not you, who? If not now, when?”
With the hustle of the holiday season, it would be easy to “take a break” from the cries for
help that we receive on a daily basis, but the calls keep pouring in. It will only be by your
continued support and help that we can all bring a little joy and comfort to those in need in
the upcoming weeks.
As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, let’s remember that the holiday’s name is a
compound word — thanks and giving.
I hope you enjoy your time with family and friends this holiday.
Warmest Regards,
Tony Rosati
President St Joseph’s Helpers
News & Updates
I am excited to introduce our new Assistant Director, Julie Kennedy-Carpenter. Julie has
joined SJ Helpers, and will be a valuable addition to our team. Julie has an impressive
background in resources and information, and has her own resource website developed for
social workers, that we have used at St Joseph’s Helpers to find our clients other ways of
getting the assistance they need. We are confident that Julie will bring fresh perspectives,
expertise, and a strong commitment to the growth of SJ Helpers. Please join me in
extending a warm welcome to Julie, as she starts this new journey with us!
We are in the final stages of adding some new features to our website. There will be
several important upgrades. The first will be a “button” that will you see the many different
videos and articles that SJ Helpers have been a part of our first year.
The second upgrade will be for our volunteers to be able to “login” with their own
username and passcode to select repairs within their communities.
In addition, there will be an opportunity for members and friends of the St Jospeh’s Helpers
Family to send your prayer requests to our website, where as a family, we will pray for your
intention.
Finally, St Joseph’s Helpers has formed a 6 member President’s Advisory Board. Members
of the advisory board are a part of a volunteer group formed to give advice and support to
the President and executive staff. The SJH advisory board will contribute to the
organization in many different ways. Some of the areas of focus will be;
Offering recommendations to leadership in specific areas of the operation
Offering recommendations to leadership on potential fundraising initiatives
Growing St. Joseph’s Helpers through their network.
Promoting St Joseph’s Helpers in the community.
