Repairing homes and
hearts through volunteer
home repair services

Tending to your physical and spiritual needs

At St. Joseph's Helpers, we strive to be more than just a home repair service. Our organization aims to help those in need with home repairs, companionship and to give our clients peace of mind and a sense of well being.

We match people in need of our services to our volunteers who have the desire to help, not only with physical tasks, but with spiritual needs as well as to build a sense of community and fellowship.

Who We Serve

We help families and individuals in need, especially the elderly, people with disabilities, and those who just need a helping hand stay in their own homes and remain independent. We currently serve Southeastern Michigan and Fayette County Kentucky communities to keep homes safe, healthy and affordable.
As a nonprofit, St. Joseph’s Helpers operates strictly through volunteers and donations. We connect people in need to volunteers that have the skills and expertise to complete each unique home project or repair.

Our Mission

St.Joseph’s Helpers is an organization founded on Christian values, made up of men and women who volunteer their time and talents to help those in need to feel safe and secure in their homes.

Julie Kennedy-Carpenter - Creator of Julie's List

In 2011, Julie Kennedy- Carpenter created Julie’s List to equip social workers and helping professionals with a user-friendly tool for finding vital community resources. What began as a personal mission to ease the burden of navigating social services has grown into a powerful online database that brings help within reach for those who need it most. Julie’s List offers a wide range of support services for the elderly, people with disabilities, individuals facing mental and physical health challenges, caregivers, survivors of abuse, the unemployed, and the unhoused. It also thoughtfully includes programs that serve specific ethnic and religious groups, recognizing the importance of culturally sensitive care. Now in partnership with St. Joseph’s Helpers, Julie’s List continues to be an essential resource for our volunteers and those we serve. As we expand our work into new states and regions, we are committed to updating the database to reflect local organizations and services, ensuring that wherever we go, help is just a click away. Together, we are building a network of hope, compassion, and practical support, one community at a time.
