Welcome to St. Joseph's Helpers!
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are dedicated to helping individuals and families remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes. We assist anyone in need, with a special focus on supporting the elderly, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. We serve communities in Southeastern Michigan and Central Kentucky.
More than just a home repair service, St. Joseph's Helpers is a Christian based organization which connects those in need with caring volunteers who offer not only practical assistance with small, safety-related home repairs, but also companionship, encouragement, and a sense of fellowship. Our mission is rooted in service, support, and building lasting community connections.
Join us in repairing homes and hearts!
Our staff and volunteers are the beating heart of St. Joseph’s Helpers! These selfless, dedicated volunteers offer their time and talents to help those in need feel safe and secure in their homes.
We currently serve Southeastern Michigan communities and Central Kentucky. Please call us at 800.303.5075 or email sjh@sjhelpers.org if you'd like to help!
For the protection of both our volunteers and residents, St. Joseph’s Helpers is insured, and all of our volunteers undergo a thorough background check.
Before becoming the Executive Director of St. Joseph’s Helpers, Rayna lived in a small town outside of Chicago, where she gained extensive experience in the senior care field. Her roles included Social Service Director and Assistant Executive Director, which provided her with a deep understanding of the needs of both clients and staff.
Rayna is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the vibrant community at St. Joseph’s Helpers. She finds fulfillment in working alongside both the individuals being served and the volunteers who dedicate their time and care.
Her guiding philosophy is simple: “If you focus on the good, the good becomes better.”
Julie is a proud graduate of E.M.U. and has worked in the health, criminal justice & teaching fields before becoming a social worker who specializes in senior citizens, disabled individuals and Veterans.
As a Certified Information & Resource Specialist, she can also connect our clients to any social services that they may need in addition to what SJ Helpers provides them. You may also know her thru her website "Julie's List" (https://julieslist.homestead.com).
